Removing a Jointer / Planer from Its Pallet and Installing a Mobility Kit
⚠️ SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
- Heavy machine: risk of serious injury
- Use appropriate lifting equipment (hoist, engine crane, etc.)
- Operation should be carried out by experienced persons
- Never stand or pass under a suspended load
- Work on a flat and stable surface
- Wear appropriate protective equipment (gloves, safety shoes)
📦 1. PREPARATION
Before starting:
- Fully unpack the machine
- Remove all transport fastenings
- Identify the lifting points located on the jointer tables
- Prepare:
- suitable lifting hooks (not included)
- lifting equipment rated for the machine weight
- mobility kit to be installed
⬆️ 2. LIFTING THE MACHINE
- Attach lifting hooks to the designated lifting points only
- Never lift the machine from other parts (housing, tables alone, cutterhead, etc.)
- Gradually apply tension
- Check that the machine is balanced before lifting further
- Lift the machine only a few centimeters
⬇️ 3. REMOVING THE PALLET
- Once the machine is lifted, remove the pallet
- Keep the machine stable at all times
- Never move the machine abruptly while suspended
🔧 4. INSTALLING THE MOBILITY KIT
- Position the mobility kit under the machine
- Ensure proper contact with the machine base/frame
- Install and secure the kit according to the manufacturer’s instructions
- Make sure everything is properly aligned
⬇️ 5. FINAL POSITIONING
- Slowly lower the machine onto the mobility kit
- Ensure the machine is correctly seated on its supports
- Remove the lifting hooks
✔️ 6. FINAL CHECKS BEFORE USE
- Machine is stable and level
- Mobility kit is properly secured
- No play or imbalance
- Proper operation of the mobility system
- Wheels lifted in working position (if applicable)
❌ COMMON MISTAKES TO AVOID
- Lifting the machine outside of designated lifting points
- Using unsuitable lifting equipment
- Moving the machine while suspended
- Working alone
- Skipping balance checks

The lifting points are designed to ensure proper load distribution and prevent machine deformation.
👉 Always use them for safe handling.
ℹ️ IMPORTANT
Lifting hooks and handling equipment are generally not supplied with the machine.
They must be suitable for the machine weight and used in accordance with safety regulations.
