Spare parts for Holzprofi and Jean l’ébéniste wood lathe

This category contains spare parts for Holzprofi and Jean l’ébéniste wood lathes. There are currently ten products, mainly for the older Jean l’ébéniste MC1100B, MC1200 and MC1200V. The range includes drive components, tailstock parts, a motor, a speed controller and a tool-rest slide. Some individual products are also listed for lathes from other brands. Compatibility must therefore be checked on each product page and never assumed for the whole machine.

Parts for the Jean l’ébéniste MC1100B wood lathe

The Jean l’ébéniste MC1100B is the main model represented. Available parts cover the drive belt, motor-side pulleys, spindle-side pulleys, tailstock, tailstock quill and handwheel. These components address both the drive system and workpiece support between centres. Vibration, noise or difficult adjustment can have several causes, so diagnose the affected assembly before ordering.

625 mm V-belt and drive system

A 625 mm V-belt for the MC1100B is listed. It transfers motion between the lathe pulleys. Replace a belt that is cracked, broken, distorted or badly worn. If wear is unusually rapid, inspect pulley alignment, pulley condition and belt tension. A new belt will not correct a separate mechanical fault in the drive.

MC1100B motor-side and spindle-side pulleys

Two pulley sets are available. The motor-side set consists of two 105 mm pulleys with 16 mm bores, items 17 and 18. The spindle-side set consists of two 120 mm pulleys with 24 mm bores, items 28 and 30. These details help prevent the two assemblies from being confused. Inspect grooves, mounting, play and alignment before deciding that a pulley requires replacement.

Tailstock, quill and handwheel

The range includes a tailstock for the MC1100B, tailstock quill item 72 and cast-iron handwheel item 78 with a 21 mm internal thread. The tailstock supports the workpiece and suitable accessories. The quill provides axial movement. If movement becomes difficult or play develops, locate the actual source: replacing the handwheel will not cure a defect in the quill or locking mechanism.

Parts for Jean l’ébéniste MC1200 and MC1200V

For the larger lathes, a 1500 W motor with an 18 mm shaft for the MC1200V and a pair of motor-side pulleys for the MC1200 are listed. These parts must not be assumed to fit the MC1100B. Before replacing a motor, check the exact model, mounting, shaft diameter and connections. Starting problems or loss of power may also originate elsewhere.

Speed controller for MC0430VD wood lathe

A speed controller is also listed for variable-speed wood lathes including the Jean l’ébéniste MC0430VD and Kity TAB660 according to the product page. Erratic speed or loss of adjustment does not prove that the controller itself has failed. Wiring, potentiometer, motor or connections may also be involved. Electrical work must be performed with the machine disconnected.

Tool-rest slide with 25.4 mm post

The category also includes a tool-rest slide for a 25.4 mm post, listed for compatible 1100 mm between-centres lathes. The slide positions and locks the tool rest on the lathe bed. Post diameter, locking system and bed geometry must match. Visual similarity alone is not sufficient.

Checks before replacing a part

Disconnect the lathe before inspection and wait for the spindle to stop. For drive problems, inspect belt and pulleys together. For tailstock problems, look for play, binding, damaged threads or locking faults. For electrical issues, inspect cables and connections without bypassing protection. After repair, check operation cautiously before normal use and stop if abnormal noise, heat or vibration appears.

Identify the correct part with the exploded diagram

The exploded diagram and item numbers are especially useful. On the MC1100B, motor pulleys are items 17 and 18, spindle pulleys 28 and 30, tailstock quill 72 and handwheel 78. Also record the exact model and rating-plate information. For motors and controllers, compare the original specifications and connections. Do not order solely from the model name if the original component differs.

Preventive maintenance of the lathe drive

Regular cleaning makes belt and pulley wear easier to see. Keep the drive area free of accumulated dust with the machine disconnected. Watch for rubber debris, unusual pulley play and changes in operating noise. Keep the original removed part until the repair is complete, as it provides a useful reference for dimensions, mounting and position. If a new belt or pulley immediately runs abnormally, stop and recheck alignment and installation rather than continuing to operate the lathe.

Keep the original component as an identification reference

Before dismantling, photograph the belt route, pulley arrangement, tailstock assembly or electrical connections concerned by the repair. Keeping the old part until the lathe is working correctly gives you a reliable reference for bore, thread, shaft diameter, mounting points and orientation. This is particularly useful on older Jean l’ébéniste machines, where production changes may make a model name alone insufficient. Never modify a new component simply to make it fit when its mounting or dimensions differ from the original.

IMPORTANT: check compatibility before purchase

IMPORTANT: BEFORE PURCHASING, carefully check the compatible machine list on each product page.
For some parts, the machine model alone may not guarantee compatibility because components can change during production.
If in doubt, send us the exact model, month and year of manufacture and serial number before ordering.

Repair and maintain your wood lathe with Probois Machinoutils

Probois Machinoutils is progressively expanding its range of replacement parts for Jean l’ébéniste and Holzprofi wood lathes. If your part is not listed, send the exact model, rating-plate photograph, exploded-diagram item number when available and photos of the original component. Accurate identification helps replace the genuinely failed part and extend the service life of a repairable lathe.
