<Spare parts for the Leman SRU356 wood band saw

This category covers spare parts for the Leman SRU356 wood band saw. The machine has 355 mm wheels, a 1450 W induction motor, tilting cast-iron table and two blade speeds. Its cutting capacity reaches 235 mm in height and 345 mm throat width. Guidance, tensioning, drive, adjustment and electrical parts may require servicing or replacement over time.

Availability changes with Leman production and supply, so the products displayed are not a permanent inventory. For reliable identification use the SRU356 model, rating-plate details and exploded-diagram item number. Leman specifies spare-parts base reference 110600 plus the corresponding exploded-view number.

355 mm wheels, tyres and blade tracking

The two wheels provide continuous blade travel. Their condition, alignment, bearings and blade-running surfaces directly affect stability. Worn tyres, sawdust build-up or bearing play can disturb tracking and create vibration.

If the blade tends to leave the wheels, first check installation, tension and tracking adjustment. With the saw unplugged, rotate the wheels manually and look for binding, play or deformation. A damaged blade can also mimic a wheel problem.

Upper and lower blade guidance

Blade guides support the blade close to the cutting area without pinching it. Side elements control lateral movement while the rear support takes thrust when feed pressure pushes the blade backwards.

Blade wander does not automatically indicate worn guides. A blunt blade, unsuitable tooth pitch, incorrect tension or excessive feed can cause the same symptom. Check settings with a sound blade before ordering guide bearings or supports.

Blade tension and upper-wheel mechanism

The tensioning mechanism changes the position of the upper wheel to set blade tension and works together with the tracking adjustment. Both controls should operate progressively without excessive play.

If correct tension cannot be achieved, first confirm that the blade is the correct length and correctly installed. Then inspect rods, screws, handles, carriers and adjustment parts. A damaged thread or bent component can prevent correct tensioning.

Drive belt and two blade speeds

The SRU356 provides two blade speeds of 440 and 900 m/min. Belt and pulleys must remain clean, aligned and correctly tensioned. An ageing belt may stretch, crack or slip.

Loss of blade speed does not automatically mean insufficient motor power. Inspect belt condition and position, pulleys and free wheel rotation. A seized bearing or excessive blade tension can greatly increase motor load.

Cast-iron table, rip fence and mitre gauge

The SRU356 has a 548 x 400 mm table tilting from 0 to 45°. Its pivot and locking mechanisms must hold the setting firmly. The rip fence and mitre gauge adjustable from -60° to +60° help position work accurately.

If adjustment becomes difficult, clean surfaces and slots first. Sawdust can obstruct movement or clamping. Check screws, pivots, handles and carriers before replacing parts, and never force a seized mechanism.

1450 W motor, switch and door interlocks

The 1450 W single-phase induction motor drives the SRU356. The saw also has a safety switch on each door, so an incorrectly closed guard or interlock problem can prevent starting.

Check the supply, main switch, guard closure and absence of mechanical blockage first. Internal electrical testing must be carried out safely by a competent person with the machine disconnected. Never bypass door safety switches.

2630 mm blade: check the consumable before mechanical parts

The SRU356 uses a 2630 mm blade and accepts widths from 6 to 20 mm. Narrow blades suit curves and scroll cutting; wider blades provide greater stability for ripping and straight cuts. Tooth pitch should also suit the workpiece.

The blade is a consumable. A blunt, poorly set, distorted or overheated blade can wander, vibrate, slow the feed or break prematurely. Check blade condition, tension, tracking and guides before blaming the motor or mechanical components.

Why does the blade wander, vibrate or come off the wheels?

Possible causes include blade wear, incorrect tension, poor tracking, guides set too far away or too tightly, excessive feed, bearing play or wheel-surface problems. The Leman manual also notes that incorrect upper-wheel inclination can prevent the blade from tracking correctly.

Diagnose vibration in the same systematic way: blade, wheels, bearings, guides and drive first, then other components. This helps replace only the genuinely faulty part.

Dust extraction and sawdust build-up

The SRU356 has a 100 mm dust-extraction outlet. Effective extraction limits sawdust around the blade, wheels and mechanisms, improving visibility and reducing deposits that can interfere with adjustments.

Clean inside the guards regularly with the machine stopped and unplugged. All guards must be refitted before powered operation.

Identify the correct SRU356 part from the exploded diagram

Leman specifies spare-parts base reference 110600 plus the number shown on the exploded diagram. This is more reliable than visual similarity for brackets, special fasteners, electrical parts and adjustment mechanisms.

If the part is not listed, send us the exact model, rating-plate information, exploded-view item number and clear photographs. Keep the removed part whenever possible. Measurements and markings are useful supplementary information but do not replace the manufacturer reference.

IMPORTANT: check compatibility before purchase

IMPORTANT: BEFORE PURCHASING, carefully check the list of compatible machines shown on each product page.

For some spare parts, the machine model alone is not sufficient to guarantee compatibility. Production changes may result in different components on machines carrying the same model name.

If in doubt, send us the exact model, month and year of manufacture and serial number before ordering.

Maintain and repair your Leman SRU356

Regularly check blade condition, tension, tracking, guides, wheels, belt and safety devices. Remove sawdust and investigate unusual noise, play or vibration early.

Probois Machinoutils offers an evolving selection of spare parts for the Leman SRU356 band saw. If the frame, table and main assemblies remain sound, targeted repair can extend the machine's working life considerably.
