Spare parts for Leman dust collectors

This category is dedicated to spare parts for Leman dust collectors used in woodworking shops. These extraction units collect chips and part of the airborne dust generated by planer thicknessers, saws, spindle moulders, sanders and other woodworking machines designed for chip extraction.

Part availability changes with model, sourcing and manufacturer supply. This page is therefore not a fixed inventory. It is intended as a long-term resource for maintaining and repairing Leman dust collectors, covering filtration, chip collection, airflow, fastening, electrical and structural components as applicable.

Filter bags, filter cartridges and dust filtration

Filtration is essential to the operation of a dust collector. Depending on the model, the unit may use a textile filter bag or a filter cartridge. Filters gradually load with fine material and can also become damaged. Excessive filter restriction reduces airflow and can make the extractor appear to have lost suction performance.

A torn filter bag or damaged cartridge should be replaced. Before ordering, check the dust collector model and relevant dimensions such as mounting diameter, height and attachment method. A bag or cartridge with a similar diameter is not automatically interchangeable.

Collection bags, retaining bands and supports

The lower collection bag receives the chips carried by the airflow. It must seal correctly against the collector and remain securely attached during use. Depending on the Leman model, retention may involve a metal band, clamp, support rod or other fastening components.

When replacing a collection bag, check its diameter and attachment system. For a retaining band or clamp, compare the circumference or adjustment range with the original. Air leaks around the bags can reduce the overall efficiency of the extraction system.

Impeller, fan housing and seals

The impeller creates the airflow that carries chips through the system. Because it rotates at high speed, it can be damaged if offcuts, pieces of wood or other foreign objects enter the extractor. A bent or damaged impeller can cause severe vibration, abnormal noise and reduced performance.

Before ordering an impeller, check its diameter, width or height, shaft bore and keyway or fixing arrangement. Also inspect the fan housing and seals around the extraction assembly. An air leak at a joint or connection can reduce airflow even when the impeller itself is sound.

Motor, capacitor, switch and electrical components

The motor drives the impeller directly or through the arrangement used on the particular extractor. A unit that will not start, loses power or stops unexpectedly may have a supply, switch, capacitor, connection or motor fault. Diagnosis should therefore begin with the symptoms rather than immediate replacement of the most expensive component.

For electrical parts, record voltage, power or other ratings, reference markings and terminal arrangement. A switch that looks identical may have a different current rating or wiring configuration. Disconnect the extractor before inspection and use a suitably competent person for electrical work requiring specialist knowledge.

Inlets, adaptors, manifolds and airtight connections

A dust collector can only maintain useful airflow if the extraction path is reasonably airtight and correctly sized. Inlet adaptors, connectors, manifolds, seals, hoses and clamps all contribute to chip transport. A split hose, loose fitting or air leak can create symptoms that resemble insufficient motor or impeller performance.

Before investigating a complex fault, inspect the extraction path between the woodworking machine and collector. Check for crushed or blocked hose, poorly seated fittings and incorrectly installed bags or filters. Measure inlet and outlet diameters before buying replacement adaptors.

Why does a Leman dust collector lose suction?

Loss of extraction performance can have several causes: a loaded filter, full collection bag, blocked hose, leaking connection or damaged impeller. Changes to the duct system or a chip blockage can also restrict airflow.

Start with simple checks: empty the bag, inspect and maintain the filter according to its requirements, check hoses and look for leaks. If unusual vibration or noise develops, stop the extractor and inspect the impeller before continuing use.

IMPORTANT: check compatibility before purchase

IMPORTANT: BEFORE PURCHASING, carefully check the list of compatible machines shown on each product page.

For some parts, the dust collector model alone is not enough to guarantee compatibility. Production changes can mean that machines carrying the same Leman model name use different components.

If you are unsure, send us the exact model, month and year of manufacture and serial number before ordering. Clear photographs, dimensions and any markings on the original component are also valuable.

Multi-brand parts: always verify dimensions

Dust collectors from different brands can sometimes share identical or closely related components. An impeller, seal, retaining band, filter or other part may therefore be explicitly listed for several Leman, Holzmann, Bernardo, Holzprofi, Scheppach, Kity or other models. Compatibility must still be checked for each individual reference.

Never assume that the rest of two machines is interchangeable because they share one component. Compare the product information with the original part and check all critical dimensions before ordering.

Maintain and repair your Leman dust collector

Routine maintenance helps preserve airflow and identify damage before it develops into a larger failure. Inspect filter and collection bags, connections, fasteners and any new vibration or abnormal noise. Never work near the impeller while the unit remains connected to the power supply.

Probois Machinoutils develops an evolving range of Leman dust collector spare parts. If the required reference is not currently displayed, provide the machine and original-part details. Accurate identification remains the best basis for finding the correct component and extending the service life of your extraction system.
