Has your Woodstar or Woodster lawn mower been with you for several seasons and is one of its parts beginning to show signs of wear? A worn belt, a loose drive cable, a recoil starter that is becoming difficult to operate or a damaged blade does not necessarily mean that the entire mower needs replacing. When the machine is still in good overall condition, replacing the affected part can often extend its service life at a much lower cost.
This category includes a wide selection of spare parts for Woodstar and Woodster lawn mowers, particularly for the TT150-46S, TT161-46, TT161-46S, TT173-51E, TT196-51SE, TT196-53, TT224-53, TT400BS, TT420BS, TT450-42, TT460BS and TT530SP models. Depending on your mower, you can find blades, belts, wheels, gears, transmission units, carburettors, air filters, recoil starters, cables, handles, blade holders, grass collectors, mulching parts and many other components.
A lawn mower operates in demanding conditions: wet or thick grass, dust, debris, vibration, repeated starting and movement over sometimes uneven ground. Over the seasons, certain parts naturally wear out.
However, a mower that still starts correctly, has a sound engine and remains in good overall condition is often well worth repairing. Replacing a belt, wheel, cable or blade holder may be all that is needed to get the machine working properly again.
And when you already know your mower well, its cutting height, how it handles around the garden and how it behaves in use, repairing it can be much more convenient than starting again with a new machine.
Our selection covers many lawn mowers sold under the Woodstar and Woodster brands, including the TT150, TT161, TT173, TT196, TT224, TT400, TT420, TT450, TT460 and TT530 series.
Many parts are also shared with certain Scheppach lawn mowers. This compatibility can make it possible to continue maintaining Woodstar or Woodster models that have not been sold for several years.
However, two mowers that look very similar may use different parts depending on their manufacturing date or serial number. Some references are only suitable for machines manufactured before or after a specific date, while others are intended for a particular series.
Before ordering, always check the exact model of your lawn mower together with its serial number and manufacturing date whenever this information is available.
The lawn mower blade is one of the most important parts for achieving a clean, even cut. With repeated use, it can lose its cutting edge, become distorted or be damaged after hitting a stone, root or other obstacle.
Different blade sizes are available depending on the model, including 400, 420, 460, 500, 510 and 530 mm blades.
The blade holder connects the engine shaft to the blade. After a significant impact, its condition should be checked together with the blade. Unusual vibration after hitting an obstacle should never be ignored.
Always make sure that the blade and blade holder you choose correspond exactly to your lawn mower model.
On a self-propelled lawn mower, the drive system makes mowing considerably easier by powering the wheels. Depending on the model, this mechanism can include a drive belt, transmission unit, gears, springs and various connecting components.
If the engine runs but the mower no longer moves forward correctly, the cause may be a loose or broken belt, an incorrectly adjusted drive cable, a worn gear or a problem with the transmission unit.
Before replacing the complete transmission, it is therefore worth checking the individual components. Sometimes a small mechanical part can be responsible for the fault.
Left- and right-hand wheel gears are not always identical, so always observe the specified side and part reference for your machine.
On petrol models, the carburettor prepares the air-fuel mixture required for the engine to run. Starting difficulties, irregular engine speed or stalling may be related to the carburettor, but can also be caused by other components.
Before replacing it, check the air filter, spark plug, fuel lines and fuel supply.
The air filter should be maintained regularly. A lawn mower works in an environment filled with dust, grass particles and plant debris. A heavily clogged filter can restrict airflow and affect engine operation.
Carburettor gaskets and fuel lines should also remain in good condition to prevent air leaks or fuel leaks.
The recoil starter is heavily used on a petrol lawn mower because it is operated every time the engine is started. The starter cord, recoil spring and internal mechanism can eventually wear after repeated use.
If the cord no longer retracts, the starter turns without engaging or it no longer turns the engine correctly, this assembly should be inspected.
On certain models equipped with electric or battery starting, other components such as the switch, starter key, battery or charger may also form part of the starting system.
The lawn mower wheels are directly exposed to uneven ground. Over time, they can wear, develop play or become difficult to turn.
Depending on the model, various components can be replaced separately, including front or rear wheels, bearings, wheel covers, housings, guards, axles and parts of the height-adjustment system.
A wheel with excessive play or that is difficult to turn should be checked to maintain comfortable operation and smooth movement of the mower.
Cables perform several essential functions, including drive, engine brake and other controls depending on the mower design. They are used every time the mower operates and can eventually stretch, seize or break.
A faulty drive cable can prevent the mower from self-propelling even though the engine is running normally.
Handles, levers, locking knobs and controls can also be replaced when damaged. For these parts, cable length and the shape of the cable ends are particularly important when checking compatibility.
A damaged grass collector does not mean that your lawn mower has to be replaced. Depending on the model, the upper section, lower section, collection bag or support may be available separately.
Different mulching plugs, covers and mulching kits may also be available. These components allow the mulching function to be maintained or restored on suitably equipped mowers.
Again, check your machine series carefully: some grass collector or mulching parts are specific to a serial number or manufacturing period.
This is probably the most important point when looking for a part for an older Woodstar or Woodster lawn mower. The same model name may have undergone several changes during its production life.
A belt, gear, blade or air filter may therefore fit one version but not another.
Before ordering, note the complete model, serial number and manufacturing date shown on the identification plate whenever possible. Then compare this information with the compatibility list on the spare part product page.
Do not rely solely on visual similarity: a difference of just a few millimetres or a slightly different mounting arrangement can make a part incompatible.
A few regular checks can help prevent breakdowns and preserve your machine. Clean the underside of the mower deck after use when necessary, monitor the condition of the blade, check the wheels and regularly inspect the air filter on petrol models.
Also pay attention to the condition of the belt and cables on self-propelled lawn mowers. An unusual noise, new vibration or loss of drive should be investigated promptly rather than continuing to use the machine until it fails completely.
Before carrying out any work underneath the mower or near the blade, always make sure that the machine cannot start accidentally.
A Woodstar or Woodster lawn mower that has already looked after your garden for many seasons does not necessarily need replacing just because a wheel, belt or cable is beginning to wear. When the engine and mower deck are still in good condition, a few carefully chosen spare parts can keep it working for several more seasons.
Our selection of spare parts for Woodstar and Woodster lawn mowers helps you find the components suited to your model and extend the service life of your equipment.
Simply take the time to identify your lawn mower correctly before ordering. With machines that may already be several years old, this is often the best way to avoid ordering the wrong reference and to complete the repair successfully the first time.
