Genuine Scheppach and Parkside Recoil Starter for Leaf Blowers

The recoil starter for Scheppach and Parkside leaf blower – Ref. 5911106006 is designed to allow the petrol engine to be started manually.

By pulling the handle, the starter mechanism temporarily turns the engine to initiate the starting cycle. The return spring then allows the starter cord to retract automatically into the housing.

When should the recoil starter be replaced?

The Scheppach and Parkside leaf blower recoil starter – Ref. 5911106006 may need to be replaced if any of the following symptoms occur:

• Cord no longer retracts correctly
• Handle remains extended after pulling
• Starter spins freely without turning the engine

Important information about recoil starters

A broken recoil starter is generally not caused by the starter itself. It is designed to turn an engine that should rotate freely during starting.

If the engine offers abnormal resistance, excessive force is placed on the cord and starter mechanism, which can cause the cord, pulley, pawls or other internal components to break.

Common causes of recoil starter failure

• Starter not compatible with the machine: the same machine model may be equipped with different engines and starters depending on its exact reference and manufacturing date.
• Engine seized or difficult to turn: seized piston, damaged bearing or another mechanical problem.
• Insufficient oil or lubrication failure that may cause the engine to seize.
