The carbon brushes for various Kity, Scheppach, Holzmann and Parkside machines – Ref. 3902202119 are designed to transmit electrical current to the rotating part of the motor.

Also known as motor brushes, they remain in contact with the commutator while the motor rotates, allowing the motor to receive electrical power and operate correctly.

Carbon brushes are wear parts: their length gradually decreases due to friction against the commutator. Carbon brushes in good condition help ensure smooth motor operation, efficient current transmission and consistent machine performance.

When should the carbon brushes be replaced?

The carbon brushes for various Kity, Scheppach, Holzmann and Parkside machines – Ref. 3902202119 should be replaced in the following cases:

• Carbon brushes are severely worn or have become too short
• Motor is difficult to start or no longer starts
• Machine operates intermittently
• Loss of power during use
• Motor stops unexpectedly
• Abnormally heavy sparking at the commutator
• Unusual noise or irregular motor operation
• Carbon brushes are broken, cracked or damaged

It is recommended to replace both carbon brushes at the same time, even if one appears less worn than the other.

When replacing them, also remember to check the condition of the motor commutator. A heavily scored, burnt or damaged commutator may cause premature wear of the new carbon brushes.
