The table router: Reliable and efficient!

Don't be afraid of the portable electric router, which can be risky to use on the fly. The table router provides you with safety and comfort when milling thanks to its rail and guide system on the table! It allows you to adjust the router bit very easily. It is supplied with 6, 8 and 12 mm clamps to access a wide range of carbide cutters for making moldings, strips, profiles and counter-profiles, and tongue and grooves. The table router is sold as an alternative to the router. Indeed, already due to its much lower cost, the parts mounted on it, called router bits, are inexpensive tools compared to router tools. Router bits are generally all carbide, allowing for better woodworking than HSS tools. The limit of the cutters and therefore of the table router could be the advancement, that is to say the depth of the molding which is limited by the diameter of the plate or the useful cut of the bit which can of course never come close to that of a router tool. On the other hand, as on these table routers different clamps are supplied or optional, this allows access to a range of cutters with a more generous cutting diameter as soon as you choose those with a 12 mm shank.

In conclusion, this woodworking machine remains an entry-level machine offering the DIYer the possibility of molding, grooving and performing all other wood decoration operations at a low price. It will not provide extreme precision like a real router but is a good alternative!
