The Holzprofi A630M thickness planer is equipped with a Ø115 mm helical cutterhead fitted with 104 four-sided carbide inserts.

The helical arrangement of the inserts provides a progressive cutting action as the timber passes through the machine. This technology promotes an excellent surface finish while also helping to reduce operating noise compared with a conventional straight-knife cutterhead.

Each carbide insert features 4 cutting edges. When one cutting edge becomes worn, the insert can be rotated to use a new cutting edge.

The cutterhead operates at 5500 rpm, providing smooth and precise planing, including when machining hardwood.

Large planing capacity: 630 x 300 mm

With a maximum planing width of 630 mm, the A630M can accommodate particularly wide workpieces.

The planing height can be adjusted from 5 to 300 mm, providing substantial capacity for machining large timber sections.

The minimum workpiece length is 280 mm.

Precision-ground cast iron thicknessing table

The Holzprofi A630M features a 630 x 1050 mm precision-ground cast iron table. Its robust construction provides excellent support and stability for the workpiece as it passes through the machine.

The table is supported by a 4-point fixing system for excellent stability.

The machine is also supplied as standard with 400 mm long infeed and outfeed table extensions, providing additional support for workpieces during planing.

Electric table height adjustment with 0.1 mm fine adjustment

For quick and convenient setup, the A630M features electric height adjustment of the thicknessing table.

A 0.1 mm fine adjustment system then allows the required thickness to be set with precision.

The electronic thickness display provides a direct reading of the setting and makes repetitive machining easier when several workpieces need to be planed to the same thickness.

Continuously variable feed speed from 4 to 16 m/min

The feed speed is electrically and continuously adjustable from 4 to 16 m/min.

This wide adjustment range allows the feed speed to be adapted to the workpiece and the required machining result.

The feeding system includes one sectional infeed roller and two solid steel outfeed rollers, providing reliable workpiece feeding through the thickness planer.

Anti-kickback fingers complete the machine's feeding and safety system.

Powerful 7.5 kW motor – 400V

The Holzprofi A630M thickness planer is powered by a strong 7.5 kW (10 HP) S1 main motor with a 400V three-phase / 50 Hz power supply.

The machine also features an automatic star-delta starter.

Two additional motors operate the adjustment and feeding systems: a 0.25 kW motor for raising and lowering the table and a 0.55 kW feed motor.

Ø150 mm dust extraction outlet and sound insulation

The A630M is equipped with a Ø150 mm dust extraction outlet for connection to a suitable dust collector in order to efficiently remove the wood chips produced during planing.

The machine also features sound insulation, contributing to improved operating comfort in the workshop.
